With floods destroying countless lives in central Texas, D1 Alliance owner Colbey Ryan knew he had to help.

"I'm a Texas native. With all of the disasters that have occurred in my lifetime, I've never seen communities rally together like they do in Texas," he said. "They're willing to make a sacrifice and suffer, because others have it worse. I feel like I've got a duty to give back."

When Hurricane Harvey hit Houston in 2017, Ryan created t-shirts for a fundraiser and raised thousands of dollars.

This time, Ryan has partnered with local businesses in the Dallas-Fort Worth area to collect donations of non-perishable food and cleaning supplies for flood victims and first responders.

D1 Alliance is in Fort Worth, about 4 hours from the Guadalupe River flooding.

Ryan said there's a trailer heading out Friday with donations from members of D1 Alliance and other gyms in the area.

Now, he wants to give others in the D1 community a chance to help out.

"My whole mission with D1 was to build a community that's athletically stronger and more confident mentally," he said. "I believe in using D1 as a vehicle to a rally behind all the others who are boots on the ground and do whatever I can to support them."

If you're interested in donating to D1 Alliance, donate here. All proceeds will go towards supplies.
