D1 Coralville’s Kylie Welker Shines On World Wrestling Stage, Eyeballs Olympics Next

At the U23 World Wrestling Championships in Serbia, American Kylie Welker dominated the competition en route to winning the gold medal.
But did you know that she also trains at D1 Coralville (Iowa) as part of its NIL program, showcasing why it's the premier place to train for athletes?
Leading up to the World Championships, Welker documented her training at D1 as she became faster and stronger.
"Kylie Welker's dedication, work ethic, and commitment to excellence set the perfect example for the young athletes, especially young wrestlers, who walk through our doors every day," D1 Coralville Owner Lisa Lepic said. "Seeing Kylie at the top of her sport reminds our youth that greatness is built through consistency and hard work."
Now, the focus for Welker shifts towards the future events.
She's looking to follow her successful sophomore season, which saw her obliterate the competition and finish with a 27-0 record and capturing the NCWWC title at 180 pounds.
Welker is also beginning training for the 2026 Senior World Championships, which will be held in Bahrain in September.
After that, it's off to the 2028 Olympics in Los Angeles.
But even with the chaos of different competitions, one thing remains constant.
D1 Coralville will be there for Welker.
“No matter where Kylie Welker is competing — on the collegiate, national, or world stage — we’re always proud to cheer her on,” Lepic said. "Seeing her wrestle among the best serves as a powerful reminder of what commitment, resilience, and hard work can accomplish."
