D1 Prepares For 16th Annual Coach Summit at Manning Passing Academy in New Orleans | D1 Daily

This week, over 150 D1 coaches and staff from over 50 D1 locations across the country will travel down to New Orleans for the 16th annual D1 Coach Summit. The event takes place at the Manning Passing Academy on the first day, and concludes with a day at the New Orleans Saints practice facility.
Coach Summit serves as a time for training, enrichment and community with different guest speakers and sessions so D1 coaches can help their athletes reach their fitness goals.
But another perk for the coaches is the ability to work out athletes at MPA, a camp catered to some of the best high school offensive players in the country.
This year, Coach Summit will feature some amazing guest speakers who have had their lives impacted through training, such as:
• Kurt Hester, who is the Director of Strength and Performance for the University of Houston's football team. Hester also previously served as National Director of Training for D1 and has trained several notable athletes for the NFL Scouting Combine, including Tim Tebow and D1 CEO/founder Will Bartholomew.
• Donald Scott, who is a coach at D1 Gainesville and also competed in the Tokyo and Paris Olympics in Triple Jump. Scott is fresh off competing in Paris for Diamond League Athletics. D1 did a feature on him for the D1 Daily.
• Clif Marshall, who served eight seasons as Indiana basketball's Director of Athletic Performance, training first-round picks such as OG Anunoby, Kel'El Ware, Jalen Hood-Schifino, and Romeo Langford. Marshall also has personally trained several first round NBA and NFL Draft picks, MLB All-Stars, Super Bowl MVPs, and the NFL’s Defensive Player of the Year in 2013 Luke Kuechly.
To cap off the two days, D1 will hand out Coach Summit Awards, given to the coaches and franchisees who exemplify the core values of D1 Training, and showcase their commitment to integrity, professionalism, hard work, and overall outstanding coaching.
