D1 Training’s own Clif Marshall recently stepped onto one of the biggest stages in sports and entertainment, joining Tom Brady, Kevin Durant, and YouTube megastar IShowSpeed in a special film produced by Dick’s Sporting Goods and OBB Media during Fanatics Fest in New York City.
The film premiered in Hollywood this week.
Marshall, D1’s Senior Director of Coaching & Pro Training, was tapped to serve as IShowSpeed’s personal trainer. His role: prepare the global influencer for both an NFL Combine and NBA Combine workout to prove to Brady and Durant that he had what it takes to compete like a professional athlete.
“This wasn’t scripted,” Marshall explained. “I designed a real workout and took Speed through every step—40-yard dash, vertical jump, L-cone drill—just like I do with D1’s NFL prospects.”

Despite only having 48 hours to prepare, IShowSpeed impressed. He posted a 40-inch standing vertical, which would rank among the top defensive backs at last year’s NFL Combine, and ran a 4.49-second laser-timed 40-yard dash. “That’s incredible for someone who’s never trained seriously,” Marshall said. “With two more months of training, he could run in the 4.3s.”
For Marshall, the experience was more than a workout—it was a chance to connect D1 Training with a new generation of athletes. “Younger athletes see training IShowSpeed as bigger than training NFL Pro Bowlers,” Marshall noted. “It’s given me instant credibility with them.”
The film, released on IShowSpeed’s YouTube channel, already has more than a million views. The follow-up episode with Kevin Durant is expected soon.
For D1 Training, it’s another example of how its coaches and programs continue to intersect with the highest levels of sport and culture, preparing athletes of all ages—not just for the combine, but for life.
