Offensive Line is a skill position, and one of the hardest positions in football – but it also
happens to be one of the most important. Footwork, hand placement, proper leverage, and other
fundamentals are learned through skill specific training and repetition. OL specific training can
help any athlete in their journey, whether that’s as a starter on their high school team or on their
mission to play at the next level.

These training sessions will be for high school football athletes and focus on the two main aspects of offensive line play: run blocking and pass blocking. Starting with the fundamentals of getting into a stance all the way to advanced techniques used by pros.

Run blocking: Moving an opponent from point A to point B is the most basic job of an offensive
lineman. Training sessions will work on efficient footwork and steps to engage defenders, as
well as proper placement. From zone blocking to pulling, there are many different ways
offensive linemen are asked to move, and this training will cover all of them.

Pass blocking: Offensive linemen are asked to stop faster, more athletic players from getting to
the quarterback. And they are asked to do this going backwards. Good pass blocking technique
is often overlooked at the youth level. These sessions will work on getting out of your stance,
proper footwork, and effective hand fighting to engage defenders.

Lead by Coach Izzy

Izzy Lobin is a former college football player and offensive line enthusiast. While at Evanston Township High School, Izzy was lucky enough to train with former NFL and high-level Division I offensive linemen. At Tufts University, he was a part of a Jumbo’s offensive line that dominated in the New England Small College Athletic Conference (NESCAC), earning D3 Football Team of the Week honors among other awards. Izzy’s passion for training athletes comes from his time training with pros in high school, an important experience on his football journey.

What Our Athletes Are Saying

  • “The personal training here is top notch! I started working out here and the trainer I was setup with built an entire program from scratch based on my personal goals, injuries, strengths, and weaknesses. They also keep things fluid and make modifications over time as I improve, or struggle in a new area. If you like targeted programming, I recommend D1 personal training.” - Nick Morrell
